Bortigali

In the surroundings of Bortigali, the remains of ten domus de janas, two dolmens, the tomb of the giants of Sereddis, the Carrarzu Iddia nuraghe complex and some other nuraghes have been unearthed. The complex includes a corridor nuraghe, likely one tholos nuraghe (beehive shape ceiling), a small structure between the two monuments, a dolmen, the remains of a Tomb of the Giants and above all a well-cistern, one of the oldest in Sardinia, all enclosed by a wall that surrounds the modest relief on which the complex was built. The materials date back to the Middle Bronze Age (about 1770-1370 BC), “comparable, on the whole, with the clay production Bonnannaro B”. Among the complex nuraghes found, the Orolo nuraghe stands out, in fact is one of the best preserved complex nuraghe in Marghine area, it includes a main tower to which a bastion with two towers has been added on the front.
